Just a thought. I do a fair bit of freelance photography and editing as a hobby (when I'm not spending time/money on the cafe), so since I don't have much to offer from a technical or mechanical stand point, if anyone needs some editing or PS work of their ride I'd be willing to do it for free. Just a thought. If your in the Calgary area and want some studio shoots let me know.
Peace.

Just missed a swap meet in Red Deer about a month or so ago. Another one coming up soon. As for parts. Its kind of slim pickings since we really only have one old bike yard in town. Its pretty good and the guys are pretty level headed. Its called T.J.s. Its coming around though as the desire for older bikes is growing. Especially for all stuff cafe. I'll line some stuff up for when you come out. BTW, if you get the chance when you're out this way, you should check out the guys at Motorrad Performance. Lots of like minded Cafe folk.

They're both pretty close. When we stop by T.J.s, we'll also stop by Motorrad as well.. Its just down the hill.

What program do you use to edit? If photoshop what version? Also, any good ideas for a backdrop for doing photoshoots against? I've found a few around town, but they're only good in the summer. Giant black sheet maybe? what are the things they use wherre they park a whole car on it, and you see nothing but black? Million Questions
thanks.

It depends on what I'm doing. If its simple adjustments to the photo I use Adobe Lightroom. If I'm doing a complete edit (Ie: removing something out of a picture) I use Adobe CS3. For a backdrop I use a wide roll of paper. Black or white. You can buy them from most professional camera stores. The good thing about paper is it doesn't reflect light much. Fabric can and it wrinkles really easy. The shots you see with the car/bike is usually done in a large studio with a black backdrop, studio lighting and a fair bit of post work. If you want to shoot your bike and have something close to that, you'll need a location like a garage; outdoor lighting won't work. Then you need to set up some lights. Set one on either side of the bike (800/1000 watt construction lamps do ok), and one from above if you can. This will remove any shadows. Use a digital camera and don't use a flash. Set your camera to go off of what ambient light you have. This will probably mean you'll need a tripod for the longer exposures. Experiment with a few shots and send the best to me and I can do the post work for you. What ever Qs you have just drop me a line at my email

Hope that helps.
